Little Women

CANTON, OH, The Players Guild Theatre will hold auditions for their upcoming production of LITTLE WOMEN the Musical.  Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and novel), LITTLE WOMEN, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart. LITTLE WOMEN embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope -- the sounds of a young America finding its voice.
Under the Direction of Johnny Russell; Music Director, Steve Parsons; Choreographer, Michael Lawrence Akers and Producing Artistic Director, Joshua Erichsen, auditions will be held:

  • SUNDAY, JANUARY 8TH and TUESDAY, JANUARY 10TH beginning at 7:00 PM at the Players Guild Theatre
  • All roles available
  • Those 14 years of age and older are encouraged to audition.
  • Please prepare 32 bars of music in the style of musical theatre, and bring music in the correct key.  An accompanist will be provided.
  • Additionally, please prepare a 1 minute monologue.  The monologue can be from a show, a poem, a book etc.
  • Please provide a current headshot/photo and performance resume
  • Principal callbacks will be held on THURSDAY, JANUARY 12TH
  • Rehearsals will begin JANUARY 15TH
  • Performance dates:  FEBRUARY 24 – MARCH 11, 2012, Friday and Saturday @ 8:00 PM, Sunday @ 2:30 PM, additionally there will be 3 school matinees scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings @ 10:00 AM
