Meet the Players Guild Professional Staff

Joshua Erichsen, Producing Artistic Director

Josh is launching into his eleventh season as Producing Artistic Director, and is celebrating two decades with this world-class organization!  Josh first joined the PGT in 1999 as an assistant to the late Richard Boczek and Bil Pfuderer. During his tenure, he has had the pleasure of producing, directing, designing and contributing to countless productions. Prior to his appointment as Producing Artistic Director, Josh served as Production Designer, overseeing the artistic integrity of all production elements, and designing sets and costumes for both Mainstage and Downstage productions. His list of design credits continues to grow and includes, Players Guild: Memphis, Ragtime ('08 and '18), Hunchback..., Assassins, Cabaret, Les Miserables, A Christmas Carol, The Full Monty ('10 and '18), A Few Good Men, Beauty and the Beast, 1776, and Jekyll and Hyde. Ohio Shakespeare Festival: Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors, and The Tempest. Other credits include: Romeo and Juliet (Magical Theatre Company), Joseph...Dreamcoat (National Tour), and was producer for An Evening with George Takei starring Mr. George Takei. Additionally, Josh is the co-founder of and Executive Producer for, Red Fig Productions, a live event production company.  He is also an accomplished magician and illusionist who stars in a one-man show, Strange Things.  Josh is a graduate of Kent State University's School of Theatre and Dance, and is the recipient of the 2007 Spotlight Award from AACT for outstanding contributions to theatre.

Beth Knox, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Beth is in her eighth season at the Players Guild Theatre.  She earned her degree in Business Management and Marketing from the Ohio State University.  Beth spent the majority of her career in management in the cosmetic and fashion industry in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and NYC markets for brands including Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Yves St. Laurent, Paloma Picasso, and Giorgio Armani.  Her background also includes grant writing, event planning, and fundraising. Beth is a co-founder, Executive Producer, and playwright for Red Fig Productions. 

     
 

TYRA GRISAK, guest services MANAGER

Tyra is absolutely thrilled to be a part of this exciting season!  This is Tyra's fifth season with the Players Guild Theatre.  With a career in the Cosmetics Industry as a special event manager, make-up artist, and account coordinator, Tyra couldn't be prouder to be a part of the Players Guild Theatre staff as Guest Services Manager. The arts and dance have always been a passion of hers, and it is her sincere pleasure getting to know the numerous talented performers in our community, and the incredible Volunteers that give a hand towards the theatre's success.

Jon is humbled and honored to rejoin the incredibly talented Players Guild team.  Jon began volunteering at the Players Guild Theatre in 1998, with a production of A Christmas Carol, where his passion for theatre took root. In the last 20 years, he has had the privilege of performing and directing all across North America before returning to his hometown of Canton, OH.  Favorite directing credits include Les Misérables, Ragtime, Cat on a Hat Tin Roof, Rent, To Kill A Mockingbird, Aida, Last 5 Years, Fiddler on the Roof, The Full Monty, Oliver, Sweeney Todd, and most recently Assassins.  Notable performing credits; National Tours: Rent (Roger), Titanic (Barrett), Miss Saigon (John U/S), The Full Monty (Jerry U/S). Regional: Joseph…Dreamcoat (Pharaoh), Rocky Horror (Frank), Ragtime (Tateh), and Les Misérables (Valjean).

Micah is proud to be entering into his fourth season of involvement at the Players Guild. After studying at Otterbein University for a BFA in Theater Design and Technology, he learned a variety of trades while working at: ZFX Flying Effects, the Mansfield Reformatory Haunted House, and Ohio Light Opera. He is proud of his construction last season, particularly on Sister Act, Cabaret, and The Little Mermaid. He has held practically every position in theater and even enjoys finding himself onstage from time to time. Favorite performing credits include; Shrek (Shrek), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney), Les Miserables (Thenardeir), Assassins (Proprietor), and A Christmas Carol (Christmas Present).

 

 

   
 

stephen ostertag, Costumer

Stephen is excited to be a part of the Players Guild creative team! After joining the 2016-’17 season Stephen collaborated on the PG Original Cinderella, and continued with Sister Act, Cabaret, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Stephen came to the Players Guild as an actor in the 2003 production, Of Mice and Men as the gentle giant Lennie Small. Stephen went on to appeare in numerous productions here at the PG and even proposed to his wife, Tricia Ostertag, on the Players Guild mainstage during the curtain call of Children of Eden. (Tricia and Stephen are now the proud parents of three boys.) During his time as a PG volunteer Stephen served as Stage Manager, ASM, crew, costume shop helper, usher, house manager. He spent a season as the box office coordinator and was a youth theatre instructor for four years. Stephen stepped away from the stage lights to earn his BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from Kent State University. After graduating in the top of his class, Stephen was immediately hired by Kent State University Stark as their Costume Designer in residence and adjunct instructor teaching Costume Design and Makeup courses.  Some of his favorite design credits include: Spring Awakening (KSUS), Cabaret (PG), Almost Maine (KSUS), Memphis (PG) and Sister Act (PG).
